Lazy Sunday

I was fully intending on working out today, but my legs are SO SORE! I think a day of recovery will allow me to pump it hard again this coming up week.

Tomorrow is weigh-in. I'm having mixed feelings about it. It always give me such a high or such a low. Perhaps I should be weighing in twice a week. Monday and Thursday.

THIS WEEK'S PLAN:
- 6 workouts of 60 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of lifting (gotta kick this lifting into gear!)

- Continued juicing (yummy!)

- Healthy dinners

- Very little alcohol...with a glass of water with each

I have good dinners planned for this week...indian, italian and some other yummy stuff.

Mentally, I'm just very determined. I am just going to be a skinny bitch and that's really all there is to it. I'm already excited to feel "normal" again at 120 and then really pumped to be skinny at 105 and be able to wear my bathing suit and pretty much anything feeling great! This is it. Gonna tackle this once and for all. Period. I only have one body and it's about time that it's taken care of properly.

RESULTS
- rest day

- 50 calories - few pieces of cereal
- 30 calories - half an apple
- 50 calories - melba toast
- 60 calories - apple half an apple
- 100 calories - red wine
- 200 calories - shrimp
- 300 calories - veggies and wheat
- 400 calories - gin & tonic
1190 TOTAL - way too much from booze...gotta reduce that this week!

Sunny Saturday

The sun is shining today. And I'm washing my workout clothes so I can head to the gym. I probably need to buy some more workout clothes. I have no idea where all of mine went. Just like with so much of my stuff. Oh well...it's just stuff! Stuff will come and go, but my body will always be with me. Which is why I'm whipping her into shape!

It's supposed to be 24 degrees today which is practically a heat wave. So we're going to take Lola for a walk this afternoon.

I'm waiting for my pants to dry and then I'm headed to the gym. Going to do 60 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of lifting. Hazaaaaaa! I am ready for some sweating.

RESULTS:
- 575 calories - 60 minutes cycling, 5 minutes weight lifting (got derailed on my 30 minutes since Katie was coming over)

So...my food results are going to be a little sketchy since I had a strange lunch. I'm feeling like I failed, but let's add it up.
- 110 calories - cottage cheese
- 100 calories - blue cheese dressing
- 100 calories - ranch dressing
- 200 calories - assorted veggies
- 75 calories - baked potato
- 25 calories - sour cream
- 300 calories - 2.5 glasses of wine
- 75 calories - popcorn
985 TOTAL

(ok...that's not seeming nearly as bad as I imagined!) That's, actually, pretty damn good! Woot!

Hey, it's Friday

Couple things I keep forgetting:

- I am HOPEFUL that at my weigh-in on Monday, I'll hit 130 pounds. I'm not sure why I feel that I can do it, but I think that I can. Call me crazy.

- I got a GREAT blue dress on super sale at Banana yesterday. It's bright blue satin. I tried and 4 and the 6. The 4 was a bit clingy on my tummy (my worst part) and the 6 was just too big. I went for the 4! With some spanx and some weight loss before Feb 8 (my gramma's party), I should be able to work it! That's a bit more than 2 weeks out. :)

I didn't sleep on Thursday night which really hosed my workout for Friday. Such a bummer. But at least I got to the gym.

RESULTS:
- 330 calories - 60 minutes brisk walking

- 220 calories - carrot, spinach, apple, cucumber, beet juice - bigger glass
- 100 calories - fluff
- 50 calories - iceberg lettuce salad
- 500 calories (guessing) -- veggie wrap
- 150 calories - wine (i had 2 glasses of water with it!)
1,020 TOTAL

We went to dinner tonight and it wasn't really a challenge and I didn't feel tempted. Probably because this place doesn't have very good food.

Snowy Thursday

It's snowing today...looks pretty.

I'm headed to the gym at about 9:20 for about 30 minutes of lifting and 50 minutes of spinning. I don't like this spinning teacher, but at least I'll get on the bike. I've only been to one of her classes, so I'll give it a try again.

I need to remember to request that the Y put a spinning bike down in the fitness area!

So, again, my TO-DO's for today are:
- 60 min of cardio
- 30 min of strength training
- No booze

I need to figure out what we're going to have for dinner. It sounds like I may be on my own, but there's very little healthy stuff to eat here.

There's still fish and some veggies, so maybe I'll go that route. We have quite a bit of tomatoes, so maybe I'll do this:
- mexican broiled fish (onions, jalapenos, cumin)
- tomato, avacado, cilantro salad

I'm also headed to Claudia's this afternoon and I am going to bring her some goodies. I am not, however, going to participate in that!

UPDATE:
So I did request a spinning bike be put out into the gym. I tried to get into a spinning class but it was full. Bummer.

I decided that if I do have some booze, I'm going to drink a large glass of water with every drink I consumer.

RESULTS:
- 600 calories - 60+ minutes of cycling, 25 minutes of weight lifting

- 125 calories - cookie at claudia's
- 25 calories - coffee at claudia's
- 75 calories - juice at claudia's
- 250 calories - tomato, avacado salad
- 250 calories - shrimp, onions, corn
725 TOTAL (sweet)!

Tomorrow...friday...I'm going to do 60 min of cardio and 30 minutes of weights (upper body). Going to try and get into spinning at 0930. I need to have juice tomorrow, too!

Wacky Wednesday

RESULTS:

- 400 calories - 60 minutes step aerobics and lifting

- 175 calories - carrot, apple, spinach, ginger, cucumber juice
- 200 calories - red wine
- 500 calories - Bees Knees martini
- 150 calories - spinach, beet, walnut salad
- 200 calories - broccoli bean soup
- 200 calories - pizza
1,425 TOTAL (yikes yikes yikes)

As you can see, about 50% of my calories came from booze...which is absolutely no good. For the next three days (thurs - sat), I'm going to have no booze unless we go out. And if we go out, I'll have one drink.

I need to kick it up in terms of working out. More cardio and more lifting. Working out needs to be 6 days a week. Cardio at 60 minutes per week. Plus 30 minutes of lifting. ...OR...90 minutes of total activity per day.

Thursday - 60 min on machines + 30 min lifting

Friday - 60 min spinning  + 30 min lifting

Saturday - 60 min on machines + 30 min lifting

I also want to have our fun activities be more active!  More walking (sidebar here: when I was losing weight, I was walking in the morning and working out in the afternoon), rollerblading, bowling, skiing, anything active!

We're going out to Scallions for date night. I wish that these dates weren't food centric. I'll just have to make some smart choices!  Update: we didn't go out for dinner. So...

Tuesday Really Got Hosed

What a screwy day.  Not as planned, so here's TODAY (really yesterday) RESULTS:

- 300 - 40 minutes on the stationary bike

- 175 calories - carrot, spinach, apple juice
- 600 calories  - 3 small pieces of pizza (cheese and white flour - yikes!)
- 500 calories - 3 Bees Knees Martinis
1,275 TOTAL (oy)

Starting Again

So I tried this whole thing about a year ago. Failed miserably...obviously. And am giving it a try again.

I'm just damn sick and tired of not being happy with my body. And I've gained about 20 pounds in the past year or so. Ugh. Absolutely no good.

My clothes don't fit. My jeans are either super dooper tight or I can't even button them. Ugh. It makes me so sick.

I just really need to do this once and for all and end it. Truly.

I've been about 120 pounds (give or take a few) for as long as I can remember. So this increase up to about 135 pounds is absolutely unacceptable. I'm embarrassed and just feel gross, gross, gross.

I know that making big meals for Anthony and the kids has contributed greatly to this. And the stress that I've been feeling recently is certainly part of the cause. Drinking so much everyday (because of all the shit) has absolutely contributed, too.

So...

So what?

So this is it. This is my time to get rid of this damn extra weight once and for all. I'm treating it as a birthday gift to myself.

My birthday is June 18. I'll be 37 (whoa). I will be 105 pounds by June 19, 2009.

That's about a 31 pound loss in 5 months. Not extraordinary or undoable. Just over 6 pounds per month...meaning roughly:

February 18 - 130
March 18 - 124
April 18 - 118
May 18 - 112
June 18 - 105

That actually seems gross to me...I want to get down to 120 asap...back to my "normal" weight. I'm not sure I can wait 'til April for that. Sounds depressing. So maybe I can be motivated enough to accelerate that. I hope so!

So my plan is simple: move more and eat less. Along with an attempt to be as vegan as possible. Low carb as possible (no white stuff!). Raw foods as much as possible.

I'm going to blog about my progress daily with hopes that I can keep myself on track by writing about it.

Each day I'll include what I've eaten and approximately how many calories in each and the day's exercise and approximately how many calories were burned.

I'll also be doing bi-weekly weigh in's on Monday and Thursday. And I may do measurements.

Today has been an ok start. Anthony and I went to the gym this morning. My darn ipod had a dead battery and I forgot my water, so it was kind of a bust for me.

---------------------------------------
TODAY'S RESULTS:

- 210 calories - 25 minutes on the stationary bike

- 175 calories - carrot, apple, spinach juice
- 100 calories - taste of green & beans
- 150 calories -  broiled fish
- 200 calories - sauteed escarole & tomatoes & mushrooms
- 175 calories - apple, chive, cheese salad
- 300 calories -  red wine
- 150 calories - small piece of pizza
1,250 TOTAL  (not bad)

Tomorrow I need to work it out twice: one hard workout at the gym (45 minutes of cardio and lifting) and a session at home (yoga?).

For eating, I'm going to have some juice during the day and broccoli soup for dinner.
